How Accelerated Resolution Therapy is Solution Focused
“The greatest good you can do for another is not to share your riches, but to reveal to him his own.”
Benjamin Disraeli
Discovering the Strength Within You
One of the things I love most about Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is that it’s centered on you. I don’t set the goals, you do. My role isn’t to tell you what to do or act as the expert over your life. Instead I’m here as a collaborator and I walk alongside you. Powering with, not powering over. Together, we discover that the solutions you’re looking for are already within you.
Building on Your Strengths Through ART
ART builds on your strengths, skills, and past successes. It helps you tap into the wisdom you already carry, your imagination, resilience, experience, and insight. When we work this way, problems aren’t seen as failures but as attempts that just haven’t worked out yet. And when we shift how you view a challenge, it naturally changes how you respond to it.
The Power of Reframing
This is also where reframing comes in. Often the way we label ourselves or others limits what feels possible. For example, someone who gets called oppositional may simply be someone who feels strongly about their perspective. A rebellious person might actually just be carving out their own unique path. Even being described as codependent can be reframed as having a deep value for relationships, which is beautiful. When we shift the lens, new solutions open up.

Healing the Past, Preparing for the Future
ART also helps calm fears about the future by resolving the deeper issues from the past. For instance, if current relationship struggles are tied to old trauma, we first work through those painful memories. Then, we can practice imagining future situations, like handling conflict differently or setting healthy boundaries. This way your brain gets the chance to rehearse the success before it happens in real life.
A Non-Pathological Approach to Healing
What’s empowering about ART is its non-pathological approach. Instead of focusing on what’s “wrong”, it highlights what’s already working. Even if it feels like exceptions to the problem don’t exist, we can ask your brain to show us how you’ve managed to cope and keep things from getting worse. We charge that spark of resilience to its highest potency in order to create lasting change. And the best part is that change often creates a ripple effect. One small shift can snowball into something bigger, touching not only your life but the lives of those around you.
