What is ART? A Brief, Structured Approach with Powerful Results
A very inspiring and informative TedTalk from Laney Rosenzweig, the inventor of ART. Erase negative images and feel better faster!
You’ve tried talk therapy and learned coping skills for your traumas, but the root issue is still running in the background. You just feel it and can’t reason with the painful emotions. You’re tired of worksheets and the other practices that do not clear the trauma. You wish there was a way for you to gently and deeply transform stubborn triggers without having to talk about it at all. You’re ready for something different than talk therapy, or something that has the potential to quickly bring you relief within 1-5 sessions. I can help with Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)!

Helping Clients Find Relief in as Few as 1-5 Sessions
I see clients who are willing to predominantly use Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). If you opt for ART over talk therapy, there is minimal talking. We will make space for some talking for education and to help you identify progress you’ve made.
I know what you’re thinking… minimal talking? Some folks need to process their emotions verbally and with a long-term support person, and that’s totally fine. Other folks find it relieving to not have to mull over painful material with a new therapist after having done that so many times, because ART does not require you to talk about your memories at all for it to work.
Besides, why should you live with your symptoms and suffering any longer than necessary? Time spent talking and not moving the muck is depleting you enough as it is, and you’re ready to invest in something different than talk therapy. ART is just that powerful; it’s the bread and butter of trauma therapy. There are no cookie cutter solutions in our work together, because life is never that simple.
No homework is given or necessary for you to unlock previously hidden insights and solutions in ART - these are discovered and integrated in session with me. During ART, I act as a guide, lend my inner resources, suggestions, and intuition to help direct you to the right thing at the right time so you can get where you want to go.
Most clients meet with me weekly to build consistency and feel supported as they move from surviving to actually creating their lives.

Neither treatment is definitely better than the other. EMDR and ART are both trauma therapies that use eye movements, but they differ in approach and technique. I find that EMDR focuses primarily on reframing negative beliefs. In comparison, ART generally involves fewer sessions and focuses on the visual and sensory aspects of your trauma. In ART, you go beyond reframing negative thoughts and core beliefs; you can voluntarily visualize and replace negative traumatic images into positive ones.

Currently, the VA/Department of Defense clinical practice guidance for PTSD focuses on trauma-focused psychotherapy such as cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure (PE) therapy. ART is considered to be an emerging treatment for PTSD, but some VA facilities are researching and implementing ART as veterans have reported residual PTSD symptoms following receipt of the above psychotherapies (CPT and PE). Here is a journal article that compares the results of ART for treatment of military-related PTSD with CPT and PE.

Typically, ART sessions range from $100 to $300 per hour. Pricing varies on the therapist’s experience, location, and number of sessions required. ART is more expensive per session than traditional talk therapy, but it may require fewer sessions to get results, potentially leading to a lower overall cost for some people. Talk therapy can be more affordable per session but may require a longer duration of treatment over months or years depending on your needs. Whether your insurance covers therapy and the specific type of therapy will impact the cost.
I provide 90-minute ART sessions for $225. I am trained at the basic and advanced level to get you results faster. The advanced ART training I received allows me to help you with fear of change, pain management, anxiety associated with dyslexia, and anxiety associated with stroke. I have expanded knowledge and skill set to apply ART to a broad range of psychological disorders and diagnoses beyond psychological trauma.
