I take my time to get to know you with a thorough and professional intake. I will ask you about your ethnic/cultural background, family issues, childhood and adult trauma(s), relationships, friendships, previous or current mental health challenges, and what you’re wanting out of therapy/your life. I want to know how you identify (sexual orientation, gender expression, pronouns, etc.). I’m looking for any themes about your situation that can be resolved with ART.

I like to work on a weekly basis. We pick a time and I’ll see you every week.
Research suggests that more frequent therapy results in faster recovery compared to biweekly or monthly sessions. Here are a couple research articles you can check out if you’re curious!

In ART therapy, eye movements are used to keep you relaxed enough to recall the core issue behind your struggle so your brain can do the work of resolving it. With my support, you are in the director’s chair to create a new image in place of the negative image that keeps you stuck. You do not need to discuss details of your experience for ART to work. Please check out my ART page for more information!

I decided to remain out-of-network with insurance for several reasons because it allows me to focus entirely on what’s best for you. Many insurance plans place restrictions on therapy, such as limiting amount of sessions, dictating session length, or requiring specific diagnoses to approve treatment. These limitations can make it harder to provide the tailored, in-depth care you need. Not to mention privacy concerns; insurance companies have the right to read and obtain copies of anything in your chart. These days they can use AI to read your claims and you may not want your health plan training AI with your health data.
Payment is out of pocket only, but I can give you a superbill upon request. You can submit your monthly superbills to your insurance company for potential reimbursement (of part or all of your session). This varies by insurance company, so call the number on the back of your insurance card to find out about your benefits.
You may also use your health savings account (HSA), medical savings account (MSA), or flexible spending account (FSA) if available. These are accounts within your employer that you may have set up where part of your paycheck is put aside before taxes for medical expenses. You usually get a credit card that you can use to pay for sessions. Please note you cannot pay for missed sessions with these accounts.
You deserve to know all the facts about your options, especially when financials are a part of the equation. If you need a referral to a clinician who accepts insurance, please contact your insurance company for a list of contracted providers or I can help you find an in-network therapist.

Anyone who hasn’t signed a contract with an insurance plan. I am an out-of-network provider because I have not agreed to a particular fee or promised to submit claims to any insurance plan on behalf of my clients.

You pay in full at session, and I provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Often there is a form you attach with the superbill from your employer or insurance plan. Please note not all insurances have out-of-network coverage, so it’s best for you to check with your insurance.
Reimbursify is an app that clients can use to submit superbills. You take a pic of the superbill and it goes to your insurance plan and could speed up reimbursement. You can pay a small fee per claim to submit through this app.
Please know that if you want a superbill insurance plans require that I give you a diagnosis. A diagnosis code goes on the superbill, and this becomes part of your medical record and medical history. Also, as you submit a superbill to an insurance plan, it opens your treatment for review and the plan may ask for your chart. They may want details of your symptoms and treatment. If you wish to proceed, I will provide you a copy of your records for you to submit to your insurance.
I hope this information has helped you make an informed decision about insurance reimbursement. Let me know during your intake if you want a superbill to submit to insurance so I can set you up to receive them on a monthly basis.
